When it comes to walleye fishing with crawler harnesses, I prefer not to use fixed or in-line weights. Instead, I opt for versatility, using the OR16 to secure weights to my main line; allowing me to easily change weights to suit conditions.
For example, when my rods are stored upright in my rod holders, I simply remove the weights and avoid them slapping around and potentially tangling lines or breaking gear. I can also simply and quickly change my weight to the preferred size for the depth of water I’m targeting. For bottom bouncing or fishing in heavy weeds, I use stick-weights in 1 ounce and 3 ounce sizes. A 2 ounce weight rigged on an OR16 Pro Clip works best for suspended fish. This setup also makes it easy to double down as a 50+2 setup when running crankbaits down deep. Give this a try to put more fish in your boat this summer!
