THE OR12TFEK TATTLE FLAG® HD ECONOMY KIT

Many years ago, Off Shore Tackle was the first to offer their customers an articulating, spring loaded flag system for detecting light bites. Dubbed the Tattle Flag®, this aftermarket item makes it possible to add a spring and linkage arm to the OR12 Side Planer to convert the standard factory supplied flag to a Tattle Flag® system.
The OR12 Side Planer doesn’t come standard with the Tattle Flag® setup, but it can be easily added thanks to the OR12TFEK Tattle Flag® HD Economy Kit, available at most Off Shore Tackle dealers. The OR12TFEK kit contains a heavy duty linkage arm, spring, washer and the necessary hardware to convert any OR12 into a Tattle Flag® board.
The Tattle Flag® HD Economy Kit doesn’t include a flag or release/clip as these come standard on the OR12 Side Planer to begin with. Installing the Tattle Flag® kit only requires basic hand tools and about five minutes time. Once installed, the spring tension on the Tattle Flag® can be adjusted by placing the spring in different holes provided on the flag stem as well as on the nose of the board. The many holes provided make it possible to rig a Tattle Flag® for trolling literally any lure big or small and at all common trolling speeds.
Tattle Flag’s® are commonly used when fishing live bait rigs, but this useful planer board accessory works great no matter what kind of lures are being trolled or what species is being targeted.
