The Off Shore Release

WHY I FISH OFF SHORE TACKLE PRODUCTS

BY CHAD BURNS

Back when I was still in the planning stages of starting my charter business, Burnsies Guide Service, my number one priority was to make sure my clients experienced the best fishing excursion I could offer to them. Many different facets of the ideal day on the water came in to play.

A huge part of the goal was to choose the best products out there to use with clients and friends. I insist on using products I truly believe in, can stand behind and I also know that the company stands behind their products. This made using the Off Shore Tackle products a no brainer for me. A big part of my guiding efforts is spent trolling for walleye on the Winnebago and Green Bay systems here in Wisconsin.

I use a variety of Off Shore Tackle products throughout my charter season. The OR12 Side Planer is virtually indestructible! I have some that are over 25 years old! One of my favorite features regarding Off Shore Tackle boards is that every component is replaceable. Whether it’s the foam, flags, releases, clips, pads, etc., all of it can be replaced. Setting these boards up with the OR12TFEK HD Tattle Flag® system is a must and all of Tattle Flag® components are replaceable too! The Tattle Flag® system really shines when trolling among small fish that bite and get hooked but would otherwise be challenging to detect.

The second product, or combination of products I use frequently is the OR16 Pro Clip with various size OR20 Series Guppy Weights. I routinely use the two ounce Guppy Weight while using the 50+2 trolling method. Guppy Weights come in sizes ranging from 1/2 to 3 ounces in size, giving me everything I need for trolling with crankbaits or pulling spinners.

I recommend replacing the rubber pads on Off Shore Tackle releases/clips every few years. While some people think the pads can be cumbersome to change out, the process is really very simple. I use a vice grip to open the clip then take a tiny flathead screwdriver to pluck the old pad out. New pads are glued in using just one drop of super glue in the middle of the rubber pad.

To sum it up, I chose Off Shore Tackle products for my charter business, because there is simply nothing better out there! That’s why I enjoy recommending Off Shore Tackle to clients, friends, followers, and subscribers on my YouTube channel https:// youtube.com/@burnsiesguideservice6682?si=JoBp5v_fepUb5Jh1.
